Southwest High School sent its volleyball seniors out in a style with a 25-17, 25-15 non-conference win over Sarcoxie on Oct. 18.
The victory marked the eighth straight season that the Lady Trojans (19-10-1) had won on Senior Night.
Senior Taylor Mettlach led the Lady Trojans with seven kills, five aces, three digs and a block, while fellow senior Chelsie Leroy added 13 digs, two kills and an ace. Additionally, senior Megan Light added nine digs and three kills, and freshman Jaime Shrum had seven assists and two digs.
"It's always nice to win the final home game," said Southwest coach Steve Voyak. "The six seniors can always say they won their final game of their career. It's a tribute to those six young ladies who have been a part of our program for so long."
In addition to Mettlach, Light and Leroy, the team also honored seniors Atisha Boudreau, Jerri Lynn Henry (who ended the match with a kill) and Sharllana Gonzales.
