Morriss Franklyn "Morey" Parker, 75, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, in his home.

He was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Round Rock, Texas, the son of Carl and Minnie (Selstrom) Parker. On Sept. 30, 1984, in Las Vegas, Nev., he was united in marriage to Lena Marie "Lee" (Orlando) Schilz, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, David Parker, of St. Maries, Ind.; one daughter, Kathy Daniels, of Berwick, Maine; one stepson, August Schilz, III and his wife, Sharon, of Virginia Beach, Va.; three stepdaughters, Debra Hagen, of Mesa, Ariz., Sue Hooge and her husband, Russ, of Maryville, Tenn., and Jean Heidemann and her husband, Jim, of Green Bay, Wis.; one brother, James "Snukey" Parker and his wife, Mary, of Taylor, Texas; two sisters, Vera Burns, of Round Rock, Texas, and Mary Alice Payne and her husband, Charles, of Bryan, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He grew up in Texas and was a graduate of Round Rock High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. For several years, he resided in Arizona, where he was a hardware salesman for Arizona General Supply. In 2004, he moved to Shell Knob. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Shell Knob.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
