Gale G. Stockton, 72, of Purdy, passed away on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at the Mercy Hospital in Cassville. He was born on June 13, 1940, son of General and Tracy (Crossland) Stockton, in Purdy. He was a graduate of Purdy High School and a life-long resident of the Purdy area.
Survivors include: one son, Allen Stockton, and his wife, Susan, of Pierce City; three daughters, Katrina Phillips, of Cassville, Sherry Holloway, and her husband, Mike, of Monett, and Lisa Dent, and her husband, Clifford, of Purdy; one stepson, Bobby Duty, of Cassville; one brother, Junior Stockton, of Sumner, Texas; one sister, Billie Gasperson, of Pratt, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Tammy Nickle; and two brothers, Owen and Norman Stockton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the White Funeral Home in Cassville with burial to follow at the Purdy Cemetery in Purdy with Jimmy Copley officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville.
