Blanche Elizabeth Snyder, 92, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
She was born February 4, 1920, in Seligman, Missouri, the daughter of John Franklin and Maude Ethal (Pippin) Snyder, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was one brother, Wayne Snyder.
Survivors include: her sister-in-law, Irene Snyder, of Cassville, Missouri; two nephews, Wayne Snyder, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, and Jerry Snyder and his wife, Norma, all of Washburn, Missouri; four nieces, Brenda Spurlin and her husband, Jack, of Joplin, Missouri, Patty Day and her husband, Greg, of Cassville, Missouri, Sherry Scott and her husband, Glen, of Purdy, Missouri, and Jan Harter and her husband, Terry, of Republic, Missouri; several great nieces and nephews and her closest friends, Edna and Herb Woofter, of Louisville, Kentucky.
Blanche was a graduate of Cassville High School and then attended college at Drury University. She worked for 45 years as the Naval Chief Secretary in the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and retired in January 1987. She had resided in Louisville, Kentucky, prior to moving to Cassville two years ago to be near family. She was a very active member of Hawthorne Baptist Church in Louisville. She was strong in her faith and also in her work ethic. Traveling was one of her favorite pastimes along with reading and helping others. The Republican Party was her strong political choice.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Bob Neeley will conduct the services.
