Gerald Dean Diers, 78, of Shell Knob, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, in his home.

He was born on Aug. 7, 1934, in Hunter, Kan., the son of August and Daisy (Pounds) Diers, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Vernon Diers.

Survivors include: two sons, Mike Diers and his wife, Ronda, of Loveland, Colo., and Steven Diers, of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Donald Edwards and his wife, Pat, of Loveland, Colo.

He received his education in San Pointe, Idaho. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a drywall contractor in Colorado and Missouri. In 1990, he moved to Shell Knob.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles # 4155 in Shell Knob. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.

Contributions may be made to the Shell Knob Shrine Club in his memory.
