Library to promote Teen Read Week

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

The Young Adult Library Services Association, a division of the American Library Association, and the Cassville Branch Library will promote Teen Read Week Oct. 14 through Oct. 20.

Teen Read Week has been celebrated since 1988. The theme for this year's event is "It Came From the Library." Teens are encouraged to visit local libraries to see what is offered.

On Monday, Oct. 15, the Cassville Branch Library will offer an opportunity to learn the Thriller dance. The lesson begins at 4:15 p.m.

"The Avengers," which is rated PG-13, will be shown during a special matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20.

Throughout the week, teens are invited to register for a gift bag full of prizes. The drawing for the gift bag will be held during the movie on Oct. 20.

For more information, call 847-2121.
