The Cassville Women's Golf League held its annual Filly Race on Oct. 4. "This is always an exciting race, and this year was no exception," said Becky Ryder. "Not one player or team was willing to go down without a fight. There were numerous saves and chip offs." The Filly Race is an alternate shot event by which all teams progress from hole to hole. The team with the highest score is eliminated at each hole. "Ties are broken by a chip off, which can be quite nerve-wracking," said Ryder. "In the end, there were no hard feelings, and all the ladies supported each other with praise and hugs." Winners of the Filly Race are pictured above.
