SUPPORT GROUP: Anyone who is concerned about a friend's or loved one's drinking is invited to attend the Cassville Al-Anon Family Group, which meets at 8 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Cassville.

CLASS: The Cassville Senior Center will offer a paint class at 9 a.m.

MEETING: The Mineral Springs Road District will meet at the district road barn at 5:30 p.m. The tentative agenda includes an update on road conditions.

DANCE: The Seligman Lions Club will hold a dance at the Seligman Community Building at 7 p.m. Musical entertainment will be provided by Frosty Garland and the Road Hogs. Adult admission is $4. For more information, call 846-5355.

SUPPORT GROUP: An Alzheimer's support group will meet at the Cassville Senior Center at 12:30 p.m.

SPECIAL EVENT: The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly First Friday Coffee networking event at the Office of Dr. Carolyn Hunter beginning at 8 a.m. All chamber members are invited to attend.


Saturday, Oct. 6

DANCE: The Cassville Senior Center will hold a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission is $4. Proceeds will benefit the senior center. Attendees are invited to bring snacks.

SPECIAL EVENT: The 33rd annual Homer Sloan Buddy Bass Tournament will begin at the Campbell Point and Kings River marinas at 7:30 a.m. For more information, visit www.shellknob.com.

SPECIAL EVENT: Toastmasters International District 22 Area S-72 and Area S-73 clubs will hold a Humorous Speaking and Evaluation Contest at the Monett Chamber of Commerce meeting room from 9 a.m. To 1 p.m. The event will feature Toastmasters from Branson, Springfield, Joplin and Pittsburg, Kan. The public is welcome to attend.
