Cassville opened tournament play with a 6-3 victory over Fair Grove. The Lady Wildcats scored two runs in the first, a single tally in the third and three runs in the fourth to solidify the win.
Paighton Brock collected two hits and three RBIs for Cassville. Madison Jamieson was a perfect two for two at the plate with an RBI.
Taylor Wolf earned the victory on the mound. She pitched four innings, allowed seven hits and struck out three.
Cassville then picked up a 6-1 victory over Lebanon.
Cassville plated single runs in the first and third innings before exploding for four tallies in the fourth inning.
Raeghan Blisard homered in her first plate appearance of the game. Jamieson collected four hits in four tries and had two RBI. Emily Speakman had an RBI double in the fourth inning. Kelsey Baker hit a pair of singles for the Lady Wildcats.
Wolf earned her second victory of the day. She allowed four hits and one earned run in six innings of work.
A tired Cassville team played their third consecutive game in a row and fell 9-2 to Branson.
The Lady Wildcats jumped out to a quick start and scored a run in the first inning, but the Lady Pirates
responded with two runs in the second and third frames and four more runs in the sixth inning to pull away.
Blisard was two for three at the plate with a double and a triple. Brock and Callie Meek each singled for Cassville.
The Lady Wildcats concluded play in the Branson tourney with a 14-2 setback to tourney champion Pleasant Hope.
Pleasant Hope scored four times in the first inning and plated five more runs in the third to win.
managed three hits, all singles. Katelyn Pitts, Blisard and Baker all had one hit each.
The tournament consisted of three three- team pools. The Lady Wildcats advanced out of pool play to secure the third place tournament finish.
Hollister
On Thursday, Sept. 27, Cassville cruised to a 14-0 victory over Hollister.
The Lady Wildcats struck early and often against the Lady Tigers, scoring four runs in the first and eight in the fourth inning.
Cassville collected 15 team hits. Jayce Fink came off the Lady Wildcats bench and hit two doubles and collected three RBI. Pitts added a double and two RBIs. Skyler Branham hit a pair of singles and contributed an RBI.
Cassville opens Class 3, District 12 play tonight at Monett against Aurora. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
