Ina I. Stephens, 93, of Washburn, passed away Sat- urday, Sept. 29, 2012, in her home.
She was born Sept. 9, 1919, in Washburn, the daughter of Lemma and Ola (Pippin) Rose. On Sept. 15, 1937, in Washburn, she was united in marriage to Titus "T.R." Stephens, who pre- ceded her in death on March 27, 2000. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter in infancy; five brothers; three sisters; and two siblings in infancy.
Survivors include: three children, Henrietta I. Bowers and her husband, Ferrell, of Cassville, Wesley H. Stephens and his wife, Patricia, of Washburn, and Kathy Stephens, of Washburn; two brothers, C.S. Rose, of Cassville, and Denver Rose, of Seligman; two sisters, Olene Hendrix, of Washburn, and Fern Hopkins, of Cassville; seven grandchil- dren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grand- children.
She received her educa- tion at Measle Prairie School at Washburn. Most of her life was spent on the same farm, except for a few years when she lived in Kansas, Califor- nia and Nebraska. She ran a country store known as Steve's Trading Post from 1953 until the 1980s. She and her husband also raised beef cattle.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. George Peterson and Warren Taylor conducted the services. Burial was at Hickman Cemetery, Wash- burn.
