Jewell Frances Boothe, 88, of Wheaton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, in Mercy Hospital, Cassville.

She was born Jan. 2, 1924, in Hood County, Texas, the daughter of Lester William and Arta (Lockhart) Hopper. On June 28, 1941, in Clovis, N.M., she was united in marriage to Erwin A. Boothe, who preceded her in death on July 16, 1999. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include: one son, Erwin Boothe, Jr., and his wife, Kelly, of Young Harris, Ga.; three daughters, Virginia Daniel and her husband, Ralph, of Cassville, Sharon Walkins and her husband, Joe, of Spring-field, and Patsy Evans and her husband, Joe, of Wheaton; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She grew up and received her education in New Deal, Texas. For 43 years, she and her husband farmed in Wheaton, and in 2003, she moved to Purdy to make her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. William Durant will conduct the services. Burial will be at Muncie Chapel Cemetery, Wheaton.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.
