Vera D. Mays, 80, Eureka Springs, Ark., passed Wednesday Sept. 19, 2012.

She was born on July 23, 1932, in Cassville, the daughter of Elmer and Florence (Davis) Turner. She worked as a social worker for the state of Arizona.

She graduated from high school and had attended college for a time. She enjoyed gardening, writing, playing Bingo and bird watching.

Those who survive include: two sons, Jack Rodrock, of Eureka Springs, Ark.; and Billy Rodrock, of El Dorado, Kan.; a daughter Karen Ellis, of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren, Jeremy Rodrock, Cheri Ochsner, Jimmy Rodrock, Melinda Rodrock; Charles Whitfield, Joshua Rodrock and Ashley Bell, Anthoney Ellis; seven great-grand children; a brother, Don Turner, of Cassville; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters and a son, Danny Rodrock.
