Cassville soccer team splits soccer matches with Aurora and Carl Junction

The Cassville Wildcats soccer team (5-7) split two matches, on the pitch, with Aurora and Carl Junction last week.

On Tuesday, Sept. 18 the Wildcats fell 2-0 to Carl Junction.

The Bulldogs were able to capitalize early and held the Wildcats offense in check for the entire contest.

The Wildcats rebounded with a 6-1 victory over Aurora on Thursday, Sept. 20.

"Our defense played much better game against the Houn' Dawgs," said Cassville coach Andrew Hoskins. "Our offense got on track in the second half against Aurora and we picked up a good win."

Cassville picked up two goals from Zach McGuffey and David Verde and single goals from Diego Ortega and Kendal Branham.

The Wildcats will be in action on Thursday at Thomas Jefferson. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
