Area seniors and caregivers for seniors are invited to attend the first annual Barry County OACAC Neighborhood Center Senior Fair at the Crowder College Cassville Campus Community Building on Business 37 north of Cassville this Friday. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon.
Designed for community members who are 55 years of age or older, the senior fair will offer information on home healthcare, medical supplies, independent living centers, end-of-life services, hospice, skilled nursing homes, dental care, disability services, senior centers, transportation, legal services, consumer credit counseling, durable power of attorney, rehabilitation, physical therapy and volunteer opportunities.
Senior caregivers and children of seniors are also invited to obtain information from the 40-plus businesses and organizations that will be represented at the event. The fair is for all local community members. Information will not be limited to low-income residents.
In addition to information, the senior fair will offer musical entertainment. Several volunteers will also share their hobbies and talents during the event.
Light refreshments will be served during the senior fair. Door prize drawings will also be held during the event. Over 30 prizes have been donated. Winners will not be required to be present to win.
The following free screenings and services will be offered during the fair: notary services for durable power of attorney documents; bone density screenings; dental screenings; glucose tests; blood pressure tests; and paraffin bath services.
