Dorothy A. Dell, age 88, of Cassville, Missouri, left her earthly life to be with her Lord on Friday, September 07, 2012.
Mrs. Dell, daughter of the late Orba and Alice Vanderpool, was born on February 16, 1924 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Dorothy attended school and was raised in the Eagle Rock Community. On December 30, 1946, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Frank Dell, in Columbus, Kansas. Together they moved to California where Frank was a carpenter and Dorothy was a homemaker.
In 1969, Frank and Dorothy moved back to Cassville to make their home. They owned and operated Dell's Cafe for 12 years. Dorothy lived her life as a faithful Christian wife and mother. Her life was her family and she loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a longtime member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and recently became a member of the First Baptist Church of Cassville.
Survivors include: three daughters, Patricia Ray, and her husband, Dennis, of St. Joseph, Missouri, Marilyn Moore, of Cassville, Missouri, and Melissa Mitchell, and her husband, Clifton, of Eagle Rock, Missouri; one sister, Freda Sims, of Rogers, Arkansas; two brothers, Max Vanderpool, and his wife, Dorothy, of Forsyth, Missouri, and Jim Vanderpool, and his wife, Judy, of Blue Springs, Missouri; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and four siblings, Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years on August 15, 2008.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cassville, Missouri, with Reverend James Weaver officiating. Burial followed at Roach Cemetery in Eagle Rock, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to either the First Baptist Church of Cassville or to the Cassville School Elementary Backpack Program and may be entrusted to the White Funeral Home.
