Michael S. "Mike" Englesby, 67, of Wheaton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.
He was born June 16, 1945, in Eau Claire, Wis., the son of Lyle and Alice (Olson) Englesby. On Nov. 27, 1965, in Rock Falls, Wis., he was united in marriage to Mary Pichler, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Bruce Englesby and his wife, Wendy, of Eau Claire, Wis., and Richard Englesby, of Purdy; one brother, Patrick Englesby and his wife, Sue, of Altoona, Wis.; one sister, Kathleen Marek and her husband, Dennis, of Ft. Charlotte, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Penny Welk; and one grandson in infancy.
He grew up and received his education in Eau Claire, Wis., where he graduated from high school. Most of his life was spent in Wisconsin, where he was employed as a mill operator for Uniroyal Tire. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve. In June 2006, he moved to Missouri to make his home. He was active in Westgate Sportsman Club and Lake Hallie Sportsman Club in Wisconsin.
Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Brother Steve Spillman will conduct the services. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Wisconsin.
