Mary Lou (Wilson) Slawson, 91, of Piney Creek Wilderness, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at her home. She was born Aug. 22, 1921, the daughter of Clarence and Lillian Wilson in Ringling, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and husband.

Survivors include: one son, Mark Slawson and wife, Kelly, of Rangely, Colo.; two daughters, Kim Williams and husband, Jim, and Leslie Ermey and husband, Mitch, all of Cape Fair; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She grew up in Sabine Pass and Port Arthur, Texas, where she graduated from high school. During the war effort she welded in the ship yards of Orange, Texas. She served her country during World War II in the U.S. Air Force as an oral surgeon assistant. She moved to the Shell Knob area in 1993.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
