Cassville YMCA to offer School Days Out Program

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

The Cassville R-4 School District will hold in-service professional development training for faculty members on several Fridays the 2012-13 school year. On those days, no classes will be scheduled for students.

The Cassville YMCA will offer a School Days Out Program for parents who are in search of a fun activity to fill their children's time on Fridays when classes are not scheduled.

"We wanted to provide something for the days when school is out but parents still have to work," said Bob Crouthamel, Cassville YMCA youth and sports director. "The School Days Out Program will offer activities similar to those offered during our Summer Odyssey Day Camp and Family Fun Nights.

"We will have organized games, such as dodge ball, movies, crafts and some free time," continued Crouthamel. "Kids will be active the whole time though."

The Cassville YMCA will provide a morning and afternoon snack for each child participating in the program. Parents are asked to send a sack lunch with their children.

The program, which is for kindergarten through sixth grade kids, will be open from 7 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

YMCA members and teachers will be charged $10 per day per child. Non-members can send children to the program for $15 per day per child.
