Janis Marie Daugherty Tucker, 63, of Stella, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, in her home.

She was born April 18, 1949, in Barry County, the daughter of Loy Franklin and Rosalie (Pennel) Byrd.

Survivors include: her companion of 17 years, Kenneth Tucker; two sons, Shane Horner and his wife, Toni, of Miami, Okla., and Yancy Pierce, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three daughters, Monica Cox and her husband, Donnie, of Rogers, Ark., Sondra Horner, of Stella, and Patty Madison, of Rogers, Ark.; her mother, Rosalie Mead, of Purdy; one brother, Danny Byrd and his wife, Janice, of Purdy; one sister, Teresa Malone and her husband, Charles, of Newnan, Ga.; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great- grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her father and one sister, Sheryl Byrd.

She lived most of her life in Barry County. For several years, she was employed for Jumping Jack Shoe Factory. She also had worked on an oil rig, being one of the first women to do so.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
