Mabel "Meg" Evelyn Whitney, 84, formerly of Barry County, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, in Baldwin Area Medical Center, Baldwin, Wis.

She was born in Rocky Comfort on Nov.16, 1927, the daughter of John and Blanche (Aubrey) Garrison. In 1946, she married Alfred Larson and to this union three sons were born. In 1992, she married Wallace "Wally" Whitney, who preceded her in death on March 5, 2004. Also preceding her in death were her parents, four sisters, three brothers and a grandson.

Survivors include: three sons, John Larson and his wife, Karen, of Prescott, Wis., Edward "Ed" Larson and his wife, Laura, of Washburn, and Harold Larson, of Costa Rica; two brothers, John Austin Garrison and his wife, Dorothy, of Columbia, and John Wesley "JW" Garrison and his wife, Wilma, of Fairview; two sisters, Edna Lukon, of Monett, and Sharon Brown and her husband, Rex, of Peculiar; two granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.

She grew up in southwest Missouri and graduated high school at Fairview. She was a real estate agent in Atlanta and a collection agent for Sears in Chicago. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Cassville.

Funeral services were held Saturday in First Baptist Church, Cassville, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home. Rev. James Weaver conducted the services. Burial was at Muncie Chapel Cemetery, Wheaton.
