Elmer J. Younger, 88, of Cassville, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Medical Research Center Hospital in Kansas City. He was born on July 20, 1924, son of Fred and Anna (Boos) Younger in Ellis, Kan. He was united in marriage to Loretta Hoffman on Oct. 9, 1945, in Denver, Colo. She preceded him in death on Feb. 19, 2004. In 1956, they moved to Cassville, where he farmed.
Survivors include: four sons, Pete Younger, and his wife, Linda, and James Younger, both of San Antonio, Texas, Joseph Younger, of Rogers, Ark., and Jake Younger, of Lubbock, Texas; nine daughters, Charlotte Woods, and her husband, David, of Cassville, Shirlene Hunter, of Cassville, Rose Carney, and her husband, Craig, of Rogers, Ark., Veronica Martinez, and her husband, Donato, of Laredo, Texas, Maxine Costa, and her husband, Joe, of Lytle, Texas, and Sharon Adams, Julie Cervantes, Wanda Anctil, Susan Thomas, and her husband, Buck, all of San Antonio, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister.
He was preceded in death by four children.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville.
