Lester L. Prewitt, 81, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012. He was born on July 6, 1931, at his home near Ridgley. He was one of ten children born to Finis and Loie Prewitt. He was united in marriage to Norma Jean (Richmond) on Feb. 27, 1950, in Eureka Springs, Ark., and she survives.

Additional survivors include his eight children, Larry and his wife, Diane, of Exeter, Jeannie, of Wheaton, Howard and his wife, Angela, of Wheaton, Renea and her husband, Gary, of Cassville, Brian and his wife, Lisa, of Exeter, and Shelly and her husband, Richard, of Wheaton; 22 grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Prewitt, of Exeter.

He was preceded in death by two infant sons, Charles and Jackie, one granddaughter, Jera, his parents, five brothers and three sisters.

He attended Ridgley School House through the eighth grade. He was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a member of Ridgley Baptist Church for most of his life.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Ridgely Baptist Church under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Tony Ball conducted the services. Burial was at Chitwood Cemetery, Wheaton.
