Mahala Jean Burbridge, 77, of Cassville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, in her home.

She was born Dec. 16, 1934, in Stone County, the daughter of William Franklin and Opal (Martin) Owens. On June 18, 1951, in Monett, she was united in marriage to Junior R.L. Burbridge, who preceded her in death on July 1, 2012. Also preceding her in death were her parents; five brothers, Bob, Claude, Kenneth, Billy Lee and Jack Melvin Owens; and one sister, Louis Wilson.

Surviving are one son, Chris Burbridge and his wife, Tammy, of Cassville; one sister, Alta Henson and her husband, Paul, of Shell Knob; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She grew up in the Shell Knob area and received her education at Stallion School and Cassville High School. She was a life-long resident of Southwest Missouri. Most of her life was spent working with her husband, Junior, as a self-employed woodworker, making various items from cedar wood. She was a member of Fairview Pentecostal Church in Shell Knob.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at Fields Cemetery, Shell Knob, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell conducted the services.
