Inmate dies in BC Jail

Wednesday, August 1, 2012

Barry County Sheriff Mick Epperly has announced that an inmate being housed in the Barry County Jail died in his sleep on Thursday morning.

In a press release, Epperly said that William Shove, 51, of Cassville, was housed in a cell alone. Shove was being treated for multiple health problems.

An autopsy was performed on Shove's body. Epperly reported that the autopsy showed Shove had an enlarged heart and died of natural causes.

According to barrycountysheriff.com's inmate roster, Shove was booked into the jail on June 8. He was charged with domestic assault in the second degree, a class C felony. His bond was set at $50,000.
