Wednesday, August 1, 2012

The Shoal Creek Watershed Improvement Group will host an ice cream social at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13 at Pioneer Baptist Church, located near Highway T north of Highway 97 in Barry County.

The event will allow attendees to share ideas for improving and protecting streams in the Shoal Creek Watershed, learn about cost-share opportunities for septic tanks pumping, repair or replacement of failing systems, stream water quality and its impact to livestock, landowner cost share for soil and water conservation and scientific findings and recommendations for Shoal Creek.

Partial funding for the project has been provided by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region 7, through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources under the Clean Water Act.
