The Barry County Clerk's office will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 4. The special hours will be offered for absentee voting for the Aug. 7 primary election.
Absentee voting for the election will also continue through Monday, Aug. 6. Weekday voting hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Voters must present one form of identification, such as a driver's license or a voter registration card.
Area residents who are unable to vote absentee in person can request an absentee ballot by mail. Written requests should be mailed to Gary Youngblood at 700 Main St., Suite 2, Cassville, MO 65625 or faxed to 847-5311.
Requests must include the following information: the voter's name, physical address, mailing address, phone number and date of birth; the last four digits of the voter's Social Security number; the reason for voting absentee; and the voter's signature. In a primary election, voters must choose a party to vote for, Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or Constitution.
The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail for the upcoming primary election is Wednesday, Aug. 1.
