Cassville man seriously injured in crash Saturday

A Cassville man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday on Highway C about five miles east of Purdy.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, Lane J. Stubblefield, 23, of Cassville, drove off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned. Stubblefield was airlifted to Cox Hospital South in Springfield with serious injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.

A passenger in the vehicle, Lindsey R. Turner, 20, of Cassville, was taken to Cox Monett Hospital with moderate injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

Other crashes

* A Monett man was injured when the 1991 GMC Sierra he was driving ran off the road and overturned several times. The crash happened at 9:35 p.m. on Friday on Highway H about two miles north of Monett. Andrew L. Gurwell, 25, of Monett, was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.

* Three Purdy residents were injured in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 4:25 p.m. on Friday on Highway 97 about one mile south of Pioneer. The crash occurred when the driver of a 1999 Dodge 1500 pickup, Cynthia D. Lane, 29, of Purdy, ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Lane and two passengers in the vehicle, Charity D. Emery, 37, of Purdy, and Luke A. Shonk, 9, of Purdy, were taken to Mercy Hospital in Cassville with minor injuries. None of the vehicle's occupants were wearing seat belts.

* A Joplin woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 5:30 p.m. on Friday on Highway 76 about three miles west of Exeter. The crash occurred when the driver of a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Donna K. Hughes, 49, of Joplin, traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Hughes was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cassville with minor injuries.

* A Purdy man was injured in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 6:12 p.m. on July 18 on Interstate 44 about two miles west of Sarcoxie. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of a 1995 Honda Passport, Ramon Zuno, 68, of Purdy, had a blowout on a rear tire, lost control of the vehicle and overturned. Zuno was taken to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin with minor injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.
