Sobriety checkpoint scheduled for Barry County

Wednesday, July 25, 2012

Barry County Sheriff Mick Epperly has announced a sobriety checkpoint has been scheduled for Barry County in the remaining weeks of July.

The Barry County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies, will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in an effort to remove intoxicated drivers from Barry County roadways. The checkpoints may be conducted at various locations, which have been found to experience a higher-than-normal number of alcohol-related contacts. "These driving while intoxicated checkpoints are a great tool for removing intoxicated drivers from Missouri's highways," Epperly said. "Anyone who suspects a motorist is driving while intoxicated is urged to call the Barry County E-911 Center at 417-847-3121, 911 or the Missouri State Highway Patrol's toll-free number at 800-525-5555 or cellular *55."
