Final Rural Schools Reunion meeting

Wednesday, July 18, 2012
The annual Rural Schools Reunion was held at the Barry County Museum on Highway 112 south of Cassville on June 24. The group voted to discontinue its meetings because as members age it becomes more difficult for them to attend meetings. The members voted to donate all books, photos and funds to the Barry County Museum. The group also voted to give the museum authority to make copies of materials as needed. The Rural Schools Reunion was started by Lloyd D. Payne, of Aurora, in June of 1989 or 1990. Payne was attendance at last week's meeting. Members present during the last meeting are pictured above. In the front row, from left, are: Wilma Greek, of Cassville; Helen Clapper, of Monett; and Glenna Edmondson and Willodean Vaught, both of Cassville. Back row: Rebakah Miller, of Cassville; Clyde Sharp, Connie and Fred Baum and Payne, all of Aurora. Photo by Fran Bolton
