Barbara "Darlene" Thomas, 70, of Cape Fair, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
She was born June 19, 1942, in Seymour, the daughter of Cluas C.C. and Fay Zelma (Maples) Daniel. On Sept. 1, 1960, in Wheelerville, she was united in marriage to Henry Carl Thomas, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, Steven Carl Thomas, of Shell Knob; three daughters, Kimberly Ann Ginther and her husband, John, of Shell Knob, Christie Thomas-Harrison, of Monett, and Jamie Leigh Sturgell and her husband, Toby, of Jenkins; two brothers, Wendell Daniel, of Ozark, and Danny Daniel, and his wife, Katherine, of Salem, Ore.; three sisters, Geraldine Crouch and her husband, Howard, of Duenweg, Janet Daniel, of Mansfield, and Judy Jones, of Mansfield; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Floydene Baker; two brothers, Claude Daniel and Carroll Daniel; and one grandson.
She grew up and received her education in Pomona, Calif. In 1959, she moved to the Aurora and Monett areas, remaining there until eight years ago when she and Henry moved to Shell Knob to make their home. She was a member of the Pentecostal Faith, Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, Family Worship Center Church.
Funeral services were Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Lonnie Stockton conducted the services. Burial was at the IOOF Cemetery, Monett.
