Four area baseball players were selected to the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association All-State baseball team on Friday.
Purdy's Cameron Terry was honored as a first-team pitching selection, and Southwest's Tyler Ferguson earned a first-team infield nod in Class 2. Wheaton's Kyle Robbins was picked as a second-team outfielder in Class 1. Cassville's Ricky Nichols was named to the second team infield squad.
Terry, a junior, finished the season for the Eagles with a .76 ERA in 47.1 innings of work. He threw six complete games, allowed only four earned runs and struck out 55. He finished the season with a 7-1 record.
Ferguson, a senior, hit .500 for the Trojans. He scored 30 runs, with 13 doubles and five homeruns.
Robbins, a senior, helped lead the Bulldogs to a district title.
Nichols hit .486 and had 31 RBI for the Wildcats this season.
