The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its final Friday Squared event of 2012 on the downtown square beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 13.
"Friday Squared is designed to create exposure and additional revenue for our membership and provide a fun family event for our community," said Mindi Artherton, chamber executive director.
Friday Squared in July will offer a scavenger hunt theme. Attendees will be challenged to answer a series of questions by visiting businesses and vendors during the event. Participants who answer all the questions will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a variety of prizes.
Barry County Connection will provide live musical entertainment during the preshow block party, which will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Area businesses and organizations are invited to offer retail booths, games, fundraisers and activities during the block party. Vendors should plan to begin setting up at 6:15 p.m.
Chamber members and not-for-profits can participate in the preshow block party at no cost. Non-chamber members will be charged a $25 booth fee. An additional charge will apply to any participant in need of electric services.
"Goonies" will be shown on the outdoor movie screen at dark on July 13. The movie screen will be located on the west side of the Barry County Courthouse.
Businesses located on the square are encouraged to participate in Friday Squared by hosting contests or showcasing new products. Special activities and promotions will published in chamber press releases, the monthly newsletter and on the chamber website.
In order to be featured in press releases, businesses and organizations must submit their promotions or activities to the chamber office by noon on Friday, July 6.
