Richard W. "Dick" Bebie, 81, of Fairview, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012, in Mercy Hospital at Joplin.

He was born on Feb. 27, 1931, in Cashton, Wis., the son of Gust and Frances (Goethe) Bebie. On Dec. 24, 1950, in Eureka Springs, Ark., he was united in marriage to Bonnie Lee Harkrader, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Richard Lee Bebie, Sr., and his wife, Arcie, of Neosho; two daughters, Donna Jordan and her husband, David of East Alton, Ill., and Melanie McKeehan and her husband, Bobby, of Stella; one brother, Roger Bebie and his wife, Mary, of Grand Marais, Minn.; one sister, Marion Lower, of Rockford, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Lonnie Charles Bebie; a brother, Bruce Bebie; and two sisters, Erma Taylor and Doris Kirby.

He grew up in Wisconsin and Florida. He served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. In 1960, he and Bonnie moved to Fairview to make their home. For 21 years, he was an over-the-road truck driver for Bowers Trucking of Neosho.

Graveside services were held Monday at Dice Cemetery, Fairview, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Jim Stewart conducted the services.
