Several injured in weekend wrecks
Several area residents were injured in wrecks that occurred over the weekend.
A Cassville man was injured in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 7:15 p.m. on Sunday on Highway F about three miles west of Eagle Rock.
The crash occurred when the driver of a 2001 GMC Jimmy, Aparicio Santiago, 42, of Cassville, ran off the right side of the roadway before returning to the roadway, skidding across the center line and off the roadway where the vehicle overturned.
Santiago was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Cassville with minor injuries.
* A Shell Knob man was injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday on Highway 39 about a mile south of Madry. The crash occurred when the driver of a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am, Ridge A. Privet, 24, of Shell Knob, crossed the center line and struck a 2006 Dodge Dakota, driven by Douglas E. Swearingen, 48, of Aurora, head on. Both vehicles came to rest off the roadway. Privet was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries.
* A teenage girl was injured when she lost control of the ATV she was riding on Sunday. The crash occurred at 2:45 p.m. on Farm Road 1215 in Jenkins when the driver of a 2003 Polaris Trailblazer ATV, Alissa Rogers, 13, of Aurora, attempted to make a left turn and was thrown from the vehicle when she accelerated. Rogers was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Aurora with minor injuries.
* Two Aurora residents were injured in a single-vehicle crash that occurred art 8:50 p.m. on Friday on Highway 39 about three miles south of Madry. The crash occurred when the driver of a 1998 Chrysler Sebring, Terrie L. Luney, 38, of Aurora, traveled off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned, coming to rest on its top in the roadway. Both Luney and a passenger in the vehicle, Donald W. Luney, 48, of Aurora, were airlifted to Cox Hospital South in Springfield with serious injuries.
* A Neosho man was injured on Monday when the 2007 Suzuki motorcycle he was operating crossed the center line and overturned. The crash occurred at 12:53 p.m. o Highway 76 about five miles north of Shell Knob. William G. McMahan, 21, was taken to Cox Hospital South in Springfield with moderate injuries.
