Monica Johanna Smith-Hall Patton, 89, of Monett, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012, in her home.

She was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Farley, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph P. and Agnes (Chapman) Smith. On June 7, 1945, she was united in marriage to Abner P. Hall, who preceded her in death in 1963. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Joseph and Agnes Smith; one daughter, Kathleen A. Hall, in 1964; and her brothers and sisters, Collista, Leonard, Emmett, Lavina, Louis, Lawrence, Mildred, Mary Alice and Evelyn Smith.

On Oct. 18, 1965, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she married Kenneth L. Patton, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one daughter, Marty Garland and her husband, Frosty, of Cassville; one son, Kenna Hall and his wife, Cathy, of Hiawatha, Iowa; one stepdaughter, Jeanny Green, of Hedrick, Iowa; and two grandchildren.

She grew up on a farm in Farley, Iowa, and graduated from high school in 1941, at St. Joseph Catholic School. After her graduation, she went to beauty school in Dubuque, Iowa. She and Kenneth resided in Oklahoma and in 2007, moved from Eufaula to Monett to make their home.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Cassville.
