William (Bill) Johnson, 81, of Shell Knob, passed away June 11, 2012. He was born on Aug. 19, 1930, in Hawkins, Wis., to William Chris and Rose Lee (Gibson) Johnson. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, Ky., and received an honorable discharge on Aug. 3, 1948. He married Luella Evelyn Brown on July 16, 1949, in Minneapolis, Minn. In 2003, Bill and Lou moved to Shell Knob, where they became owners of the Big Bobber Resort on Table Rock Lake. Later, they opened Vintage Ozark Antique store, where Bill assisted in operations.
Survivors include: one daughter, Debra Lou Miller, and her husband Terrance, of Oceanside, Calif.; one son, James Milton Johnson, and his wife, Rosann Gloria, of Shell Knob; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and all of his siblings, he was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, Cathy Anne Johnson, and one grandson.
Memorial services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at the White Funeral Home in Cassville with Dale Crownhart officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville.
