Barry County residents who plan to vote during the Aug. 7 primary election must be registered by Wednesday, July 11.
Area residents who have moved or changed their names are also encouraged to update their voter registration information.
Absentee voting will begin at the Barry County Clerk's Office on Tuesday, June 26. Voting hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Area residents who are unable to vote absentee in person can request an absentee ballot by mail. Written requests should be mailed to Gary Youngblood at 700 Main St., Suite 2, Cassville, MO 65625 or faxed to 847-5311.
Requests must include the following information: the voter's name, physical address, mailing address, phone number and date of birth; the last four digits of the voter's Social Security number; the reason for voting absentee; and the voter's signature. In a primary election, voters must choose a party to vote for, Republican, Democrat or Libertarian.
