Democrat Photo/Reed On Monday, Cassville Mayor Bill Shiveley signed a proclamation in honor of the Cassville Rotary Club's 70th annual rodeo, which will be held at the Bill Hailey Arena on June 15 and June 16. According to the proclamation, the Cassville Rotary Club was chartered in 1937. The club currently has 54 members who serve the local community in conjunction with 1.2 million other Rotarians at 32,000 Rotary clubs operating in 200 countries across the world. The International Rotary Organization sponsors the largest privately funded international scholarship program in the world. Since its inception, 34,000 students from 100 countries have become Rotary cultural ambassadors. The local club sponsors a variety of programs, including the Boy Scouts and the Cassville Little League, and offers vocational and college scholarships. The club also supports the Rotary Youth Leadership Conference and eradication of worldwide polio with over 2 billion vaccinated. Club members also participate in the Business Highway 37 cleanup, Dictionary Distribution Project and the Halloween Costume Contest on the square in Cassville.
