Successful fly-in

Wednesday, June 6, 2012
Turkey Mountain Airport in Shell Knob hosted the first fly-in of the season on Saturday, May 26, which featured a Super Cub group from Gaston's Resort that made a lunch stop during their poker run fundraiser to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project. Pilots with that group exhibited short field take-offs, spot landings and flour bombings. Over 50 planes made an appearance at the airport during the festivities, and over 250 meals were served to pilots and spectators. The event contributed over $1,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project.
