The Neighborhood Center is accepting school supplies and cash donations for this year's event. Any amount of supplies can be dropped off at the center. Cash donations will be used to purchase supplies. Some of the to items needed are paper, pencils, pens, multi-colored folders and backpacks.
Businesses and organizations are invited to participate in the fair by offering booths with information, gift items, services and activities. In the past, the fair has offered free dental services, haircuts and vision screenings and information on education, health, physical fitness, safety and community resources.
Volunteers are also needed for this year's School Readiness Fair. Volunteer opportunities include sorting and packing supplies before the event, helping set up the days prior to the event and assisting with booths on the day of the fair.
Children attending the fair receive a backpack and the majority of the school supplies required by the grade level teachers in their district.
