Lola June Thomas, 71, of Purdy, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, in her home.

She was born May 5, 1941, in Orient, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Villa (Galbreath) Brown. She was united in marriage to James Thomas, who preceded her in death in 1976. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Rex Brown; and one sister, Treva Ulmer.

Survivors include: two sons, James Thomas and his wife, Susan, of Monett, and Duane Thomas and his wife, Julie, of Stewart, Iowa; two daughters, Norma Wogoman and her husband, Jack, of Purdy, and Sandra Brown and her husband, Carl, of Butterfield; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She moved to Southwest Missouri at the age of 9. Most of her life was spent as a cook for various restaurants in this area, and she had worked for her son, James, at Prime Cut in Monett. She had been a member of Monett VFW Auxiliary.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Joe Wogoman conducted the services. Burial was at the IOOF Cemetery, Monett.
