The Barry County Council on Aging (BCCOA) is seeking people to serve on its board of directors.
Members of the BCCOA are those 60 years of age or older and interested in improving the welfare of senior citizens. The board's goal is securing solutions to the in-home needs of senior citizens, helping them remain in their own homes as long as practical.
Some programs the board sponsors are homemaker services, a medical alert system, Good Neighbor volunteers, home delivered meals, personal care and respite programs.
The board receives funding from the Barry County Senior Citizens' Services Tax Board and the Southwest Missouri Office on Aging.
The board needs representation from all areas of Barry County. Those interested in helping seniors are invited to serve on the board of directors.
For more information, contact the BCCOA at 847-2229 or write to: BCCOA, 1111 Fair St., Cassville, MO 65625 before May 31. Queries may also be emailed to BCCOA2006@yahoo.com.
The election of new board members will be held on June 13 in local senior centers.
