L B Jones, 64, of Wheaton, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012, in his home.
He was born July 6, 1947, in Yellville, Ark., the son of George and Lona (Vickers) Jones. On March 7, 1966, at Bentonville, Ark., he was united in marriage to Shirley A. Brewer, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Bob Jones and his wife, Amy, of Exeter, and Jack Bradley and his wife, Debbie, of Southwest City, Okla.; three daughters, Georgina White and her husband, Lee, of Bentonville, Ark., Rhonda Stewart, of Rogers, Ark., and Tennille Cummings and her husband, Darrien, of Summers, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, George Jones, Jr., and L D Jones; and one sister, Edith Simpson.
He lived in Yellville, Ark., until the age of 3 and moved with his family to Bentonville, Ark., where he grew up and received his education. He was a self-employed carpenter, working in new construction of homes or remodeling. He served his country in the 142nd National Guard Unit, Bentonville, Ark.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) in Roller Cemetery, Washburn, under the direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Rev. Jarod Mock and Rev. Leroy Norton conducted the services.
