A Cassville woman was arrested Tuesday after she was discovered outside a Mineral Springs area home with a bag of stolen loot by her side.
Barry County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a rural Cassville home on April 29 after the homeowners arrived at their residence to find a strange car in the driveway and immediately called 911.
Sgt. Randy Kalbaugh and Reserve Officer Chris Hutson responded to the home. Officer Hutson rounded the corner of the house and found Melissa K. Lowery, 35, lying on the ground with a bag full of stolen items laying on the ground beside her.
Lowery was arrested and taken into custody. She is charged with burglary in the second degree and theft-stealing of a controlled substance.
As of Friday, Lowery had not been arraigned on the charges. She remains in the Barry County Jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
