The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce's new networking event, First Friday Coffee, has been so successful that it will be continued through the end of the year.

"The event has far exceeded my expectations," said Mindi Artherton, chamber executive director. "It is always a little scary to try something new, but we have averaged around 20 to 30 people at each coffee, and I have been very pleased.

"It is a great opportunity for our host business to have new potential customers come into their business and learn about what the host has to offer," added Artherton.

All Points Recycling, located at Hilltop on Highway 112 south of Cassville, hosted the most recent First Friday Coffee event on May 4.

Past events have also been hosted by Whitley Pharmacy, the Cassville Democrat, Commerce Bank, Access Family Care, Sonic, Mercy Home, Health, Hospice and Medical Supply, Security Bank and Runnels Chiropractic.

Cassville businesses signed up to host future First Friday Coffee events include: Gussied Up Boutique, located at 613 Main St., June 1; Four Seasons Real Estate, located at 87 S. Main, July 6; Mercy Hospital, Gravel Street, Aug. 3; Presto Espresso, 504 Main, Sept. 7; Dr. Carolyn Hunter, 77 Smithson Dr., Oct. 5; Security Insurance, 1310 Old Highway 37, Nov. 2; and Designs By Debbie, 300 E. Fifth St., Dec. 7.

"First Friday Coffee was created to provide an informal and fast venue for our chamber members to connect with other business leaders in our community," said Artherton. "Not everyone has the time to attend a lunch or join a committee, but this event provides an avenue for that demographic. It is a great way to network and make business connections in a very informal setting."

First Friday Coffee events are held from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Host businesses provide complimentary coffee and at least one door prize.
