The sun was shining, but Mother Nature still made her presence felt with large wind gusts during the Class 3, District 6 golf tournament at Honey Creek golf course in Aurora on Tuesday.

Despite the difficult playing conditions, Cassville's Evan White, Parker Skinner and Cody Stehlik advanced to the sectional round next Wednesday at Briar Brook in Carl Junction.

"The wind was a factor today," said White. "I just tried to play my game."

Logan-Rogersville won the team event, recording a 332. Monett came in seven strokes behind with a 339 for second place. Republic took third, finishing with a 345, and Cassville took fourth recording a 347.

White shot a five-over-par 76. Skinner tallied an 88. Stehlik carded a 90. Wil LeCompte finished with a 93, and Connor Redmon completed the round with a 105.

Only the top two teams and top 15 individuals advanced to the sectional tournament.

Monett's Jacob Fair shared tournament medalist honors with Logan-Rogersville's Alec Palen. Both golfers recorded a three-over-par 74.

White and Fair earned All-District honors.

Sectional flights are set to tee off at 9 a.m.
