Teddy R. Sims, 74, of Exeter, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville.

He was born April 3, 1938, in Purdy, the son of Willie "Bill" and Velma (Swadley) Sims. On Dec. 8, 1989, in Miami, Okla., he was united in marriage to Glenda Bingham, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Ronnie Keen, of Avoca, Ark.; three daughters, Velma Jean Sims of Stillwater, Okla., Theresa Cornelison and her husband, Robert of Garland, Texas, and Kristy Stewart and her fiancÚ, Dozer Keithley, of Clever; one brother, Rockford Sims and his wife, Sue, of Exeter; two sisters, Imogene Coin, of Independence, and Treva Bruce, of the state of Arkansas; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Jarold Sims; one daughter, Katrina Sims; one brother, Robert Sims; and one sister, Thaxie Jo Coin.

He grew up and received his education at Purdy. From Sept. 30, 1955, to Nov. 10, 1955, he served in the U.S. Navy. Most of his life was spent as a self-employed truck driver.

Memorial services were be held Sunday in the Purdy Community Center. Cremation arrangements were under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
