A Golden man has pleaded guilty to federal charges of producing child pornography.

On Monday, Timothy Stringer, 34, was facing a jury trial in federal court of Springfield when he decided to plead guilty to the charges against him.

Stringer admitted that he used two cell phones and a digital camera to take photos of a 15-year-old minor. The images included photos of Stringer and the minor engaged in sex.

The case against Stringer was investigated by the Cassville Police Department, the Barry County Sheriff's Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the U.S. Secret Service Administration.

Stringer will be sentenced following the completion of a presentence investigation by the United States Probation Office. Under federal law, Stringer faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison without parole up to 30 years in prison without parole as well as a fine of up to $250,000.

Stringer's case is part of the Project Safe Childhood initiative, which was created by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
