Helping local environments

Wednesday, April 25, 2012

Democrat Photo/Lindsay Reed On Saturday, families that attended Roaring River State Park's annual Earth Day celebration were invited to pick up free trees and information about conservation. Participants also had the opportunity to build birdhouses, which will be donated to Joplin. In addition to homes and lives, the southwest Missouri city lost a great deal of wildlife during and after the tornado devastated the city in May of 2011. In the photo above, Lexie and Aubrey Sanders, of Cassville, decorate one of the birdhouses that will be sent to the neighboring city.
