The Purdy Eagles baseball team sent 15 batters to the plate in the first inning scoring 10 runs on five hits to propel them to an 18-2 victory over Sarcoxie Thursday night.
"We were patient and got off to a hot start," said Purdy coach Joshua Hughes. "I was really proud of the way we competed."
Cameron Terry went three for three from the dish, with two singles, a double and four RBI. Every Eagles' batter reached base, scored or drove in a run.
Purdy added three runs in the third and five runs in the fourth.
"The five runs in the fourth inning were all created by our JV subs," said Hughes. "Quin O'Hagan, Britten Hardwick, Heath Burnside, Reese Veith, Brent Cornman, Robby Moody Jared Smith and Devon Well came off the bench and performed at the plate."
Devon Bennett earned the victory for the Eagles. Bennett pitched five innings, allowed one hit and two runs and struck out four.
